Summer is a time for swimming at the pool, riding bikes, sleeping in, and playing with friends. But it is also a great time for relaxing reading for fun and keeping their minds busy and active just as much as their bodies.
Many local libraries around Wheaton, IL have summer reading programs that encourage kids to continue reading all summer long. These challenges can either help them branch out into new genres or authors, include free t-shirts, entice them with cool prizes at the end of the summer for completion, entered into raffles for museum tickets or local giveaways, or just give kids a way to hold themselves accountable.
