The Museum has a rich history, and was originally the Adams Memorial Library from 1891 to 1965. The library became the Museum in 1967. For over 50 years, visitors have been able to enjoy the rich history of DuPage County.
Exhibits rotate every 9 months and feature thousands of historic artifacts and photos. Subject matter can be found for toddlers, seniors and everyone in between. This year’s exhibits will be:
Tense Times: The Cold War in DuPage County- opening June 14
Woven Together: Coverlets and Community in DuPage County- opening July 12
Cabinet of Curiosities- opening September 13
Located on the lower level, you will find the HO Scale Model Railroad. The trains are operated by the DuPage Society of Model Engineers (a separate non-profit group) since 1965. The detailed layout covers over 2,000 feet of track and highlights some of DuPage County’s railroads and landmarks in a landscape blending fact and fantasy. Train Saturdays take place the third and fifth Saturdays of every month.
